Emanuel Copilaș, Universitatea de Vest (Timișoara, România) – What is the Value of Labour Today? (a lecture for the locals)

In modern economic thinking, work and its measurement have a specific place. Various macroeconomic theories claim it in between them, the most important being, today, Marxism and neoliberalism. Tracing how the labor theory of value was adopted from classic liberalism and adapted for Marxism, the present seminar advances a discussion of the manner in which neoliberalism reacted to Marxism and left economic theories in general through the sharp questioning of the labor theory of value.
